Dr. Ali Arab Khorasani

Dr. Ali Arab Khorasani holds a PhD. (obtained in 2010) from DarulShafaUniversity (Seminary) located in Qom, Iran; where he also studied for his Masters. He had his undergraduate education from 1994 to 1998 at the Hawza of Qom (the Qom Seminary),the largest Islamic seminary in Iran.
Dr. Ali Arab Khorasanihas extensive experience in teaching and administration at the tertiary level. Courses taught by Dr. Khorasani include Philosophy, Jurisprudence, the Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence, Arab Literature and Grammatical Sciences (which include its lexicon, morphology, syntax and rhetoric) among others; and written copious articles and textbooks in these areas for use in Iranian institutions.
Dr. Khorasani’s area of research interest include: women leadership in Islam. He is currently working on ‘Copyright Issues in Islam’.
Dr. Khorasani served as the Head of Academic Affairs of Al Mustafa Open University in Qom, Iran from 2001 – 2004, and assumed the mantle of leading the institution in 2005. Between 2005 and 2010, Dr. Khorasani served as the Head of Research at Al Mustafa International University and also the Director of the Al Mustafa International University Centre for Translation and Publishing. He moved to South Africa where he was the President of the Al Mustafa International University branch of South Africa from 2010 to 2014. His last post before he was appointed to IUCG was at Al Mustafa International University where he was the Director of the Al Mustafa Language and Cultural Centre from 2015 to 2019.
Dr. Khorasani is married to Zahra Khorasani with whom he has three children: Fatemeh, Mohammad Hossein and Mohammed Yassin.
