Implementation of Clocking-In and Clocking-Out Policy at Islamic University College, Ghana

In a bid to enhance accountability and efficiency, the Islamic University College, Ghana (IUCG)
has announced the implementation of a ‘clocking-in’ and ‘clocking-out’ policy for all non-
teaching staff effective immediately.

The Registrar Dr Mohammed Ameen Kassim in a notice under this new policy, said all non-
teaching staff including Senior Members, Senior Staff, and Junior Staff are required to clock in
each morning, not later than 8:00 am, to register their arrival at work.

Similarly, he said they must clock out in the late afternoon, not earlier than 4:00 pm, to register
their departure from work.

He added that staff members who have not yet undergone biometric registration are urged to
contact Mr. Justine to complete this process promptly.

The Registrar further said that the administration has outlined a monthly reporting system
wherein on the 20 th of each month, the President will be provided with attendance information.

Additionally, he said monthly salaries will be based on this attendance report, emphasizing the
importance of punctuality and adherence to the policy.

Regarding leave, Dr. Mohammed Ameen said employees seeking leave for up to three days must
apply through their immediate supervisor or head of unit to the Registrar, however, if the leave
extends beyond three days, approval from the President through the Registrar is required.

Dr. Mohammed Ameen Kassim, the Registrar of IUCG, signed off on the notice, directing it to
all non-teaching staff members.

This move aims to streamline operations and ensure a more structured work environment at the
institution.
