Faculty of Business Administration
The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programme aims at giving the urban poor and the rural youth especially those in in Muslim communities the opportunity for high-quality tertiary education in order to improve themselves and their communities through the acquisition of technical expertise in the specialized areas of Accounting, Banking and Finance, Marketing, and Human Resource Management (HRM) for career development in both the private and public sectors of the Ghanaian economy.
Faculty of Communication Studies
The BA Communication Studies program aims at producing highly-qualified Communication graduates who can provide cutting-edge solutions through research at the University College and the working place to the evolving and complex competitive business environment; and who are passionate about the development of their local communities, and are ready to apply themselves to highlighting and promoting local issues. The program further aims at inculcating into its graduates the moral and socially-desirable values of honesty, probity, integrity, excellence, creative and critical thinking, perseverance and fear of the Almighty God (Allah).
Faculty of Religious Studies
The Department of Religious Studies was the first Department to be established in the Islamic University College, Ghana. It has since 2001 been affiliated to the Department for the Study of Religions, University of Ghana, Legon. The Department focuses on Islamic Studies but also deals with other disciplines such as Comparative Studies in Religion as well as study of other Divine Religions (Judaism and Christianity), Eastern Religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism, Daoism, Zoroastrianism, Confucianism etc) and African Indigenous Religions. The overall aim of the Department is to give students quality education through knowledge based on true religious principles and values by inculcating in them high sense of morality, honesty, tolerance and trust in the Almighty Allah.
Faculty of Education And Psychology
The aim of the programme is to expose students to the spectrum of ECE in order to prepare them for career in schools, childcare centres, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). This will enable the teacher trainee to be able to understand the concept of early childhood education which has positive effects on the ability of a developing child in all aspects of life. The implementation of the programme will help produce qualified Early Childhood Educators who will help in the education of children in the Early Childhood Centres in Ghana and beyond. This will ensure the improvement in professional delivery of early childhood services in schools as well as ensuring professional treatment of the children in these sensitive formative years
Faculty of Nursing And Midwifery
n line with its vision of providing quality higher education grounded in Islamic principles, fostering innovation, creativity, and ethical leadership in Ghana and beyond, the Islamic University College has established the Department Nursing and Midwifery. The Department currently runs MSc. Critical
Care Nursing programme with the aim of preparing nurses with the specialized knowledge, technical skills, and emotional resilience necessary to provide exceptional care to critically ill patients and contribute to positive patient outcomes within intensive care and critical care units. The general aim of Critical Care Nursing is to provide specialized, high-quality care to critically ill patients, ensuring their stability, comfort, and recovery within intensive care
settings. The programme is affiliated to the Iran University of Medical Sciences, which is among the top three universities of medical sciences in Iran. Plans are afoot to introduce BSc. Nursing and Midwifery programme in February 2025.
