The Islamic University College, Ghana, (IUCG), has formally matriculated fresh students for the 2025/2026 academic year, officially admitting a total of 235 students out of over 500 applicants who applied to the institution. The ceremony, held at the university’s auditorium, marked the climax of the admission process following weeks of orientation for newly admitted students. Addressing the gathering, the Registrar, Mr. L.O.M Sakyiama congratulated the fresh students for choosing IUCG and described matriculation as the official process of enrolling students into the university. He noted that the ceremony also required students to take a solemn oath to obey university regulations, respect authorities, and commit to diligent study and academic integrity. He urged students to treat the oath not as a routine formality but as a serious commitment to their academic and personal development. The breakdown of admissions showed strong enrolment across key undergraduate programmes, including Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts Communication Studies, Bachelor of Education, and Bachelor of Arts Religious Studies. The Registrar highlighted that admissions were highly competitive, reflecting the university’s commitment to maintaining rigorous academic standards. In a major development, IUCG announced that it had received accreditation to introduce a Bachelor of Science (BSc) General Nursing programme, approved by the Nurses and Midwives Council of Ghana and the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission. Management indicated that preparations are underway to commence admissions into the new programme. Additionally, the university revealed that 12 students had already been admitted into its MSc Critical Care Nursing programme in February 2026. The Registrar further advised the fresh students to cultivate discipline, critical thinking, and a strong desire for excellence. He encouraged them to avoid shortcuts and unethical practices, stressing that success in university requires hard work, integrity, and commitment to learning. He also urged students to honour the sacrifices of their parents and guardians by making the most of their academic journey. He concluded by congratulating the matriculants and wishing them a successful stay at IUCG, expressing hope that their time at the institution would be marked by growth, opportunity, and academic fulfillment.
