IUCG Registrar Welcomes Fresh Students at 26 th Matriculation Ceremony

Islamic University College, Ghana (IUCG), on Thursday, April 17, 2025, held its 26 th Matriculation Ceremony with a warm welcome address delivered by the Registrar of the university, Dr. Mohammed Ameen Kasim, marking the official induction of new students into the IUCG academic community. Addressing a packed auditorium of dignitaries, staff, students, parents, and guardians, Dr. Ameen extended a heartfelt welcome on behalf of the President of IUCG. He congratulated the newly admitted students for earning a place at the university, describing the occasion as “a day of celebration, a rite of passage, and a formal initiation into the academic and social community of this noble institution.” Dr. Ameen emphasized the unique vision of IUCG, which is grounded in blending academic excellence with moral and spiritual development. “Here, we strive not only to educate minds but to nurture hearts by preparing students not just for careers, but for lives of purpose, leadership, and service to humanity,” he stated. He elaborated on the university’s core values — Knowledge, Faith, and Service — stressing that IUCG fosters intellectual growth, encourages moral integrity and spiritual development, and promotes social justice and service to society, particularly to the underprivileged. In his advice to the matriculants, the Registrar reminded them of the weight of the opportunity they have been granted. “There are many who wish they were seated where you are seated now, but you are the lucky few. “You have every reason to be proud and say Alhamdulillah!” he said. He, however, cautioned that the journey ahead would be challenging, marked by both highs and lows, but would ultimately be rewarding in proportion to their effort, discipline, and intellectual curiosity. Encouraging the students to seize every opportunity and remain true to the university’s values,
Dr. Ameen added, “Remember that you carry on your shoulders the silent dreams of your families and the aspirations of your communities and the nation as a whole. Do not let them down.” He also acknowledged the efforts of faculty and staff, praising their commitment to excellence in shaping future leaders. “Your role is central in transforming the lives of our students,” he noted, and prayed for Allah’s guidance and protection for all. To the parents and guardians, Dr. Ameen expressed gratitude for entrusting their wards to the institution and assured them of IUCG’s commitment to their holistic development. Concluding the address, he urged all stakeholders to collaborate in creating an environment that reflects the spirit of IUCG — one of peace, inclusiveness, academic excellence, and moral uprightness. “May your journey here be filled with discovery, growth, and lasting impact,” he said. The ceremony signified not just the beginning of academic life for the new students but also UCG’s continued dedication to developing well-rounded individuals poised to make meaningful contributions to society.
